The next several weeks will be full of preparations for this years Phoenix Comicon in downtown Phoenix. I'll have a small press booth (T16) and a setup similar to last years, with a few improvements. I'm a nut for keeping things clean and organized, so I'm looking for ways to maximize the space I have.
I'm also preparing some special products for visitors to our booth and I'll be announcing a special summertime agenda for World of Rynaga. So, watch for updates soon. Thanks.

Iconica Game Tip #2
Watch Your Tiles
During an Iconica game, it's important to observe what tile a character's damage marker lands on. If you're not paying attention, you're bound to miss an opportunity to prevent incoming damage, status effects, and other negative actions. Just one overlooked detail is enough to unravel your tactical approach to the game and can lead to disaster pretty quickly.
It's true, Iconica was created with layers of complexity. So you don't have to play the game using Strengths and Nullifiers to have fun. Yet, incorporating these elements into your game is really the only way to get the full Iconica experience.
Hey, you want to be prepared come tournament time right? I thought so.

New Iconica Character Releases
Ok, printer stuff is out of the way and I'm moving on! On or before Monday, April 19th at 7pm, the following three characters will be available from my Etsy Shop:
- Greystalk Vaygr Slayer
- Lunaen Masquer
- Drakhan Raider
- Araylian Pathfinder
These characters hail from the eastern regions of Veratar. All three of these characters are aligned with the Legion, which serves to balance out the available selection between Protectorate and Legion a bit more.

New Iconica Characters Delayed
Well, I was so excited to receive new Iconica characters from my printer today!
But alas, on my way to photograph the new characters, I discovered a production issue that is currently being resolved with my vendor and may result in reprints.
So, the new Iconica cards will suffer a slight delay in their release. I will keep everyone up to date. I have a great source for printing and I'm sure they will correct things quickly.

Preparing for Phoenix Comicon 2010
Well, I have lots of new Iconica characters at press and I'm waiting with great anticipation for them to be delivered. The next few weeks are going to be very busy for me.
I'm preparing for this years Phoenix Comicon. I'll have a table in the Indie-Publisher's section. Phoenix Comicon is really the only convention I've done so far. There are others around the country I'd like to get involved with, but I'll need to make some serious schedule adjustments to attend them. Regardless, Cons are a great time and it's inspiring to see so many creative people sharing their work and experiences.
I plan to arrive at this years Comicon with lots of new Iconica content, as well as some special "in-person" promotions. I'll keep you guys up to date during the next few weeks.
Ok, back to work. The Con is gonna come quick!

Iconica Game Tip #1
Choosing Your Party Members
Iconica is a strategy game. You do a fair of amount of planning and building of your collection. Some favor Offensive characters, while others favor Defensive characters.
Consequently, much of the strategy in Iconica is applied before you even play the game, specifically when you're choosing your party members.
As the rules point out, you and your opponent will take turns choosing characters to play. While this is happening, pay close attention to which characters your opponent is selecting. Choose your own characters based on which cards you believe will be effective against your opponents characters.
How does one know which characters will be effective? Get to know your characters. Once you know the characters, you can begin forming strategies for playing against them.
For instance, playing a Songsayer against an Assassin = not good for the Songsayer 9 times out of 10. However, the Songsayer does well against Defensive class characters.
So, get to know the characters you possess. If you don't own some of them, read their profiles online to find out more about them. After all, in life or in Iconica, knowledge is key.
